    Murder-Suicide Loss Network (MSLN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of murder-suicide loss. We offer virtual support groups every other Friday night for our members. Our mission is to create a space for our community, help people understand our type of complex loss and grief, and advocate for survivors. This means we are a specific type of nonprofit organization in the United States that is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.   • What kind of advocacy work is MSLN doing?
    We have produced a podcast so people can hear our survivor stories. These may help other survivors feel less alone. We hope to spread awareness about murder-suicide to help survivors find our group if they are seeking support. We are creating trainings for first responders and counselors. We are studying murder-suicide, looking for warning signs, and compiling data to help other researchers.
  • What is Murder-Suicide?
    A murder–suicide is an act where an individual intentionally kills one or more people before killing themselves. The combination of murder and suicide can take various forms: Suicide after or during murder inflicted on others Suicide after murder to escape criminal punishment(s) Suicide after murder as a form of self-punishment due to guilt Murder that entails suicide, such as suicide bombing Suicide by pilot, or the deliberate crash of a vehicle carrying the perpetrator and others Murder of an officer or bystander during the act of suicide by cop Suicide before or after murder by proxy Murder linked with a person with suicidal ideation Joint suicide in the form of killing the other with consent, and then killing oneself

    During a support group session, you can expect a safe and confidential environment where you can share your experiences and feelings. Sessions are peer-led and focus on providing mutual support and understanding. Our support groups meet every other Friday night.

    Our support groups meet every other Friday night. Each session is designed to provide a safe space for sharing and healing.

    Our support groups are open to anyone affected by murder-suicide loss, regardless of their relationship to the victims or perpetrators. We welcome all survivors to join and find support.
